Trauma orthopaedics
A large percentage of orthopaedic surgery involves traumatology. The injuries range from low to high velocity trauma, which are usually associated with variable degrees of injuries to the musculoskeletal system. This includes isolated trauma as well as poly-trauma surgery.
Procedures range from fracture surgery, poly-trauma surgery in addition to complex ligament reconstructive surgery. Furthermore procedures such as nerve repairs at a microsurgical level are also performed. Part of the traumatology division is treating sequele such as non-union surgery and deformity corrections which are dealt with in the various modern techniques that are currently available.
